I wasn't involved yet when the naming was done, but I would guess that it was originally just a short name for libxml2. However, if we ever decide to register it as a brand name ( :o) ), it can't be a short form for something, at least not officially, so now it's just "lxml". I find "lselect" quite appropriate as a name, even though it doesn't visibly restrict the thing to CSS selectors. Stefan
