BTW, I'm create lxml package for macports.
That would be available soon if macports maintainer accept this.

There were pre-generated files missing from the tgz that are only required when you build without having Cython installed (which I didn't test...). They were renamed since alpha4 but were not adapted in the MANIFEST that defines the archive content.
I just re-uploaded a fixed archive (same version number, as nothing else changed). Please retry with that.
