In case you have any pending fixes or open issues that you want to have considered for the next libxml2 release, now would be a good time to speak up.
Here is their bug tracker:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?product=libxml2
And their mailing list:
The release candidates for libxml2 and libxslt are now available. Please give them a try to see if they work for you. I'm planning to use them in the next binary releases. ftp://xmlsoft.org/libxml2/ On most non-Windows systems, you can build lxml statically with these versions by setting these environment variables: LIBXML2_VERSION=2.9.5-rc2 LIBXSLT_VERSION=1.1.30-rc2 STATIC_DEPS=true (Note that the build will not automatically pick up pre-release versions, unless you explcitly specify the versions above.) If the build fails with a missing "lzma_*" symbol, you can either uninstall the lzma-dev headers, or try the latest lxml master (and pip-install Cython). Stefan
