It feels like I could be missing something very simple, but is there a way to invoke lxml.html.html5parser's parsing methods so that they return elements satisfying lxml.html's richer HTML element API (described below)?

From what I've been able to try so far, the html5parser API only

returns elements satisfying the more limited ElementTree API.
