If there is an error in the owners roster, a message sent to that roster
bounces to the same list generating another (longer) bounce message
which also bounces to the same roster, ad nausium.

can be edited via the "Edit the public HTML pages and text files" link

Digest header / masthead.txt changes

I ran into this one - and it was particularly vexing since I do not have
access to my list's masthead.txt through my host.
It seems to me, if the goal is to maintain the same basic default
behaviour, this could be fixed most easily by:
1) setting the default digest_header to be the contents of masthead.txt
2) supplying an empty masthead.txt file
This allows most site admins to edit the digest_header via the web
interface, while still allowing a masthead to be defined, if needed.
But I'm probably missing something crucial here....

Glad to see this is in the planning stages. Good luck with it.
One strange thing is that when I searched for RSS mailing list, I didn't find this bug. Maybe this comment will change that.

Public bug reported:
Under certain circumstances such as when bin/add_members is run multiple
times in a script, VirginRunner in the process of sending notifications
can fail to detect that the list object was updated by another process
and can save the list object without having first loaded the latest
version, thus losing changes.
