We did.
There is indeed a lawful basis for processing that is archiving in the public interest. But you simply misunderstand those provisions if you believe they give any public or private operator of every archived mail list scope to deny the right to be forgotten.
In view of our competent legal advice, we'll take our chances. Nobody's denying the right to be forgotten, but some of us are familiar with the case law and have some idea what it means.
