I've been searching around for people's experiences implementing alternate web interfaces for Mailman, but I've been surprised not to find much.
I was thinking about a full frontend redesign for discussion lists using mailman, perhaps integrated to a CMS like xoops or alike, allowing people to:
- post to the mailing list, fetching the username and sender email with the cms user base.
- display list archives using the same layout formatting as the rest of a cms-maintained website.
- reply to any message from the list
- manage mailing lists: display, subscribe, choose digest mode, unsubscribe, from each available list
- search inside the archives.
All of it with an integrated, object-oriented, interface design;
Yeah, guess I'm trying to create a free egrous.com.
Anyone interested? I'm not a coder, so can't do much about it.
