We (Coclico-project http://www.coclico-project.org/) have started some work on a better integration of mailman and forges

The code is allowing to overload SecurityManager like it's done for MemberAdaptor, it uses extend.py list by list or globally.

This is actually a quilt patch that applies when building debian package, but you can also try it by applying it with patch command

I know there is also some work made to integrate mailman and forge forums, we would like to deal with too.

Our next step is to make mailman a forge plugin to demonstrate how it could make easier to use mailing lists in forges.

• SecurityManager overload allows mailman to use forge cookie to log in transparently from forge to mailman and give administrative rights according with forge projects rights.
• MemberAdaptor overload allows to subscribe/unsubscribe to a mailing list as easily as you Monitor/UnMonitor a forum
