Mailman-cvs can't handle .info addresses?
I have someone who subscribed with a .info address to one of my lists, and I have VERP enabled. Apparently, mailman chokes on that (see the verp address, it's incorrect: it doesn't contain the list name). Does mailman use an out of date list of TLDs anywhere?

It's not wrong everywhere - the actual bounce from their mailer daemon mentions the correct verp address for your list, for instance.
But look at the way it broke it up:
aly.dharshi=smail.info@merlins.org: host mail.merlins.org[204.80.101.251] said: 550-Verification failed for sa-exim-bounces@localhost.smail.info 550-Unrouteable address 550 Sender verify failed
It looks like they tried to VRFY back at you that your sender existed, and either they broke it up at the +, or your VRFY can't cope with it, and so they decided not to deliver the mail because they think *you* don't exist... Notice that it says that mail.merlins.org is the one complaining, not them. They're the reporting host.

Mmmh, looking at it further, it looks like you're right.
But look at the way it broke it up:
aly.dharshi=smail.info@merlins.org: host mail.merlins.org[204.80.101.251] said: 550-Verification failed for sa-exim-bounces@localhost.smail.info 550-Unrouteable address 550 Sender verify failed
I got confused as to who was checking whom, but you're right, they have
broken SMTP callback.
2002-07-05 20:15:25 H=smail.info (deep.smail.info) [193.165.168.18]:52108 sender
verify fail for sa-exim-bounces@localhost.smail.info: Unrouteable address
2002-07-05 20:15:25 H=smail.info (deep.smail.info) [193.165.168.18]:52108 F=
What confuse(d/s) me, are the headers of the mail mailman supposedly sent:
Content-Description: Undelivered Message Subject: You have been unsubscribed from the SA-Exim mailing list From: sa-exim-bounces@deep.smail.info To: aly.dharshi=smail.info@merlins.org, aly.dharshi@smail.info
The To: just looks wrong
It looks like they tried to VRFY back at you that your sender existed, and
Actually it's an SMTP callback.
exist... Notice that it says that mail.merlins.org is the one complaining, not them. They're the reporting host.
Yep, but I'm only complaining because the callback address is incorrect. They do a callback to aly.dharshi=smail.info@merlins.org, and if this was my envelope sender when I sent mail to them, it sure is incorrect.
I'm still not convinced that there isn't a problem with my side, but there is something wrong with the other side first, so I'll start with that. 2002-07-05 20:15:25 H=smail.info (deep.smail.info) [193.165.168.18]:52108 sender verify fail for sa-exim-bounces@localhost.smail.info: Unrouteable address
