Mailman 2.1.16 release.
FYI, I will be releasing 2.1.16rc1 in a few days with a target of a final release in early September.
I believe the release will be very solid and stable. The main purpose of the candidate release is to expose any i18n changes so that translators can submit any updates and get them in the final release. There are a few new features, contributed programs, i18n changes and bug fixes, all of which will be announced when the candidate is released.

As a long-time user of Mailman, running a list of 2000+ subscribers, thank you Mark for all your work. Is there any pertinent news regarding a new major release of Mailman?

Work on Mailman 3, Postorius and Hyperkitty is progressing, but at the moment I'm not aware of any firm release dates.

We'll probably also do another hackathon next weekend, same time and place.

Note that there is a minor glitch in the tarball in that the NEWS file dates the release as xx-Aug-2013 instead of 19-Jul-2013, but I didn't think it was worth uploading new files for that.

I am pleased to announce the third release candidate for Mailman 2.1.16.
Python 2.4 is the minimum supported, but Python 2.7 is recommended.
This release has a few new features and several bug fixed as detailed in the attached README.
Differences from the second candidate are the renaming of the author_is_list feature to from_is_list to more accurately describe what it does. This feature has also been extended to provide the option of leaving the original message intact and wrapping it in an outer part with Content-Type: message/rfc822.
The from_is_list feature is considered experimental and subject to change in future releases. It is being released now as a "candidate" to allow some exposure before the final 2.1.16 release which should occur in October.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the good release as always. Sorry to ask this, but will your Htdig integration patch for 2.1.15 also work on 2.1.16, or are the differences too great for the patch to apply successfully?
Thanks to you and all the team as always, Andrew.
