Hello Developers ,
This is Saswat Mishra currently pursuing Sophomore year at I.I.T. Delhi. I have been working with Python since last year. I have recently worked in developing a social networking site for a startup and have prior experience in Django framework and REST api. I have even worked with C , Java , JavaScript , OCaml , MongoDB , MySQL and NodeJS. Apart from this I do basic level ethical hacking and penetration testing. I am even at basic stage in Machine Learning and wish to implement it on HyperKitty for automatic moderation and spam protection in large mailing lists.
I am really interested in working under mailman for GSoC '19 as it is closely related to my earlier work and experience and its a great tool specially for large organizations unlike mobile apps like whatsapp. I have installed the mailman and its parts and it is running successfully on my system.
I am looking forward to solve bugs which are of higher priority as of now and would like to seek help of the mentors in doing so. Therefore I would be happy to get assigned any of the bugs / issues.

Thanking You.

Automatic moderation sounds interesting to me, how would go about doing that? Do you have more details on that?
Spam protection is a whole another beast of a topic, we have had tons of conversation on this list about spam protection and integration with Mailman. Please make sure you dig through the archives before you spend significant amount of efforts trying to propose something that has been done before.

Please feel free to pick up an issue on our Gitlab issue tracker. We have issues tagged "beginner-friendly" and "easy" which should be easy to start with and then you can pick more difficult ones as you go.

Hello Sir,
Thanks for acknowledging my mail and idea about moderation.
I would rather see the moderation part as semi automatic, in the beginning atleast. I have tried being a part of quite some mailing lists and to start of ; why moderation is required, I would say redundant discussion of similar questions.
This could be solved by personal reply through bots that can match any new question with the older discussions using ML. We can further inform the moderator if any question has not been posted that was raised by a user along with the reason for later use.
Secondly, we can make a system that gets a message to the moderator only when it seems too much out of context or with obscene content by analysing the texts with the earlier references made in the group.
Thirdly we can get personalized moderation. Like if I don't like to see messages about self introduction in this group, then I can change that part.
All of these if not automatic but will atleast fasten up and make the moderation more effective.
I would like to get views about this idea and I am open to all kinds of comments and suggestions.
Thanking you.
