Does anyone know if it is possible to clone a list instead of manually creating each one from scratch?

I think I will write a little python skript to achieve soon if there is nothing like that. (where soon means < 1 month)

Make the new list, then perhaps use config_list to dump the variables of the list to clone from, make changes, and then import into the new list, making the new list look a lot like the old list?

The last time I needed to do this, it was possible just to copy the contents of .../lists/[listname] to .../lists/[newlistname] -- config.db and all. I haven't played with an installation that has config_list, but making some basic assumptions, that seems workable, too. However you'll need the associated templates and digest index file and so on, too.
And don't forget to copy the archives, if that applies. Users tend to get annoyed by that, but only after enough time has passed to make it harder to do right.
