I've come up with a slightly non-standard need:

I need to able to side-line messages in the hold queue (basically take them out of the queue without approving/rejecting/discarding them), and to later put them back into the hold queue so I can then do whatever to them.

Is there an elegant way to do this (I didn't see anything obvious)?
