[GSoC 2026] New contributor – interested in Postorius
Hi Mailman Developers,
I hope you are doing well.
My name is Sumit Goyal, and I am a Third-year Computer Science student from Indian institute of information technology,Kota (IIIT Kota) India. I am interested in contributing to Mailman as part of GSoC 2026.
I have experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and web development, and I am particularly interested in working on Postorius (UI-related improvements and features).
I have started exploring the codebase and setting up the development environment. I would love some guidance on:
Beginner-friendly issues I can start with
Any specific areas in Postorius that need attention
Best practices to follow while contributing
Looking forward to contributing and learning from the community.
Thanks for your time!

You can then find issues tagged with "beginner-friendly" and
"easy" on our Gitlab Page. Or ask us on the mailing lists (but
showing you've checked the GitLab issues first is something we
consider an encouraging sign!)
