Hi all,
I'm just kicking in with Python, having had an insane Python devotee whispering it in my ear for the past six months, so I've been looking for code to peruse, and hopefully contribute to.
Given that I use mailman on a daily basis (actively and passively), and I have a couple of itches, I thought I should join up, and read up.
One thing I'd like to do, that doesn't seem to appear on the TODO list, is provide an extra option for moderators: bouncing to another address. Dealing with a few lists, I find that some useful emails are sent to inappropriate addresses, and it would be cool to just bounce 'em out instead of cutting them off.
Anyhow, I have to go read the code before I get all ambitious, don't I?
Of course, I ought to thank you all for a kickarse piece of software too. :)

It's not on the TODO list, because it's already in the codebase. :) Moderators can optionally forward a held message to any address they want.
Welcome aboard though, there's plenty of other itches that need scratching.

*blush*
Tell me that's in the 2.0 releases and not 1.1... please! :)

Danke!
Am I better off perusing the SourceForge CVS code, or the current beta5 release?

Yup 2.0! I don't ever remember what was(n't) in 1.1 anymore :)

They're pretty close. I think beta5 is quite stable and useful. The current CVS snapshot has a few more bug fixes, but mostly minor I believe. I've sucked all the old Jitterbug bugs into SF and am in the process of doing triage on them. After that, I'll make a swing through the patches page and as much of the mailing list traffic as possible.

It is.

They are -- unless you run OpenBSD. There's one key fix for that platform.
If you're starting, start from the CVS. But at the very least, get up to speed on b5 before worrying about reporting bugs or writing code, because it's a whole new universe.

Don't feel to bad, Barry probably borrowed Guido's time machine... ;-)
