Macintosh files when uploading "mass subscription " lists
Hello,
two bugs :
when I send a Macintosh file for "mass subscription" via the web, Mailman does not understand the Mac's linefeeds as separators for addresses, and sees just one (wrong) address.
When users reply to a confirmation cookie, they usually send their cookie followed by several lines of whatever (signature). Mailman sends them the "your message in error" reply, instead of "welcome !"

This should be fixed now in cvs.

Fixing this requires a rewrite of the mail command handler, something I've decided to put off until after MM2.1. For now, it's a minor inconvenience (they still confirm their action).

What about just stopping processing of a message once you see the confirm? Is that reasonable? What are the chances of there being multiple confirms or commands in a single message? Is it reasonable to restrict it to one command per e-mail in this case, so you can exit before sending an error?
Could you keep state, and if you've seen a confirm and acted, exit without the error?

Yes, I am an agent of Satan, but my duties are largely ceremonial.

It's entirely reasonable... unless you've looked at the code. ;)
The mail command processor is one of the last things (not counting pipermail) that I've wanted to rip out and rewrite, because it's hard to do things exactly like this.
I may have a lapse of sanity, or an insomniatic attack, and actually do it before MM2.1, or I might get a bright idea on how to wedge this in painlessly. We'll see.

Fair enough. Just thought I'd ask.

If this is the worst mis-feature in MM 2.1, we owe you a beer or five. I wouldn't bother, unless it's trivial.
