Hello Everyone, Does anybody have seen the latest messages.pot from CVS? Last weekend I was trying to update my translation and I found a few messages that I really do not know why contains the catalog? Here is an example: #. docstring #: Mailman/Archiver/Archiver.py:18 msgid "" "Mixin class for putting new messages in the right place for archival.\n" "\n" "Public archives are separated from private ones. An external archival\n" "mechanism (eg, pipermail) should be pointed to the right places, to do the\n" "archival.\n" I really do not know why should I translate this message? Almost every 'docstring' are needless. And how can this be in the catalog, because those messages is not marked anyway. They are starting with """ in the code , and not with the common signes _( . Barry what is your opinion about this? And another question: What is the url for the web based remove list? I read the messages in the catalog, but I could not find any url for that page? Because I run pygettext with the -D option, it extract docstrings for all modules, classes, methods, and functions. I do this because I /do/ want the module docstrings for the bin/* scripts to be in the catalog. This is because those docstrings server double duty as the usage text for --help, so they should be translated. They can't be wrapped with _() because then Python wouldn't consider them docstrings. I really should try to break the messages.file: rule in message/Makefile.in into two, because the docstrings for the stuff not in bin/* cron/* or scripts/* probably does not need to be extracted.
