There has been a couple of cries for help in installing mailman on Solaris systems. I too had some problems with permissions and log files not being created during installation of rc1 on a Sol 2.6 system with Python 1.5.2. I'm in the fortunate position of performing an initial install so I can't help with anyone upgrading from a previous release. An inauspicious beginning. I'm trying to install and configure mailman 1.0rc2 on a machine running Solaris 2.6 with qmail. For what it's worth, it's a fresh machine and I've been a qmail user for, oh, about two hours :). Errors after installing rc2

Since installing rc2 I am getting the following errors on some old lists (these messages are from the output of mailq). The same basic messages are in maillog. I did run ./configure, make install, and make update. I am running Redhat Linux 5.0 updated to kernel 2.0.35 and postfix 19990601. Any insight will be appreciated. Importing old archives?

I have some mailing lists that I used to manage by hand but have now arranged for Mailman to manage. How can I import the old archives for those lists (presently in V7 folder format, but I can convert 'em to anything in a jiffy) into Mailman's new archives? Thanks in advance, - Bob

I don't know about anyone else but I've never been able to get arch to work (b9 thru rc1). When run I get the following and no message is ever added to the archive. I've tried setting the lists up as both public and private with the same results.
