Mailman generated password sometimes incorrect.

Hello all, I'm hoping someone can help me, I'm having a problem with the mailman generated passwords created when I mass subscribe people. When each subscriber gets their welcome email containing their password, I have found that occasionally this password is incorrect. One of my subscribers tried to change his digest option, to find that he couldn't because the password sent to him was incorrect. I checked this by going into his subscription and trying to unsubscribe him and his password was definitely incorrect. I also tried to check if this occurred with all generic passwords by subscribing myself to the list via the mass subscription area, to find that the password mailman sent me was correct and I could use it to unsubscribe. So it doesn't happen all the time, just for occasional subscribers. Has anyone else had instances where their generated password has not worked, and what have you done to remedy this? Malformed return email address

Hmm... almost there I think, except the way return addresses are generated "infpsyk-request@.melon.dk". I have no idea where the extra "." comes from, has anyone experienced this kind of error before?? The relevant part of the maillog is below, please CC any replies as I'm not on the list yet. Documentation: list admin draft

I have placed the first rough draft of both a list manager's guide and a list manager's quick reference on the web. I would appreciate it if members of the MM user community could take a look at it and comment. I have been preparing documentation for my institution as we roll MM out and we will eventually GPL the docs once we find out what we need to do. The following documents are currently available for review: 1. MailMan User Guide (for list subscribers) 2. MailMan Administrator's Guide (for list managers, non-technical list owners) 3. List Administrator's Quick Reference (covers 90% of what our help desk has heard from non-technical (faculty) list owners). At this time all of the documents are ugly, I just need feedback/corrections related to the content. I installed Mailman in one PC running Linux + Apache, But, when i try to view the HPages, i´ve got a 404 erroR! IE5 and the admin pages.

Hi All, Normally I'd hit the archives before asking - but as the archives appear to be down... I remember reading that there were known issues about accessing the admin pages using IE5 with mailman 1.0. I've recently upgraded my mailman installation to 1.0, and now have some list owners complaining that they can no longer access the admin pages. What i want to know is whether there are any fixes or workarounds to allow IE5 users to use the admin pages. peace Chris
