Incorrect domain parsing?

Mailman ROCKS, this is a very well designed and thought out product, my cudos to the developement team! Now on to my question. 8^) Mailman seems to be munging the domain name, if I set the domain name to 'watcher' in the mm_cfg.py the From seems to reflect that correctly in mail sent from Mailman but if I change the domain to watcher.nsg.stercomm.com The From changes to the domain watcher.stercomm.com. The problem is of course that there is no machine by that name. I have experimented and read all I could find on the subject and I can't seem to get this working. mailman cgi's not working

I've tried now for a couple of days to get the mailman cgi's running. I've tried apache and I've tried roxen webserver, but I end up with the same error. We're sorry, we hit a bug! virtual hosts and mailman (yet another)

I'm running the 1.1 release and seem to have problems getting mailman to consistantly use the "Host name this list prefers" option to take affect in all places. Specifically: 1) The replacable %(host_name)s parameter doesn't map to the prefered hostname. 2) If you set the "reply to list" option, it uses the actual hostname and not the prefered hostname. Has this been "fixed" in later versions? If not, would the correct behavior be to fix this? -- -rupa

Strange problems

Ok, I am having some strange problems with my mailman server. This started when I move from FreeBSD to Linux. I am currently running Mailman 1.1 on Redhat 6.1. Ok, the first thing is that when I run check_bd I get a error that the db files are messed up. I looked at them and notice they are owned by mail.mailman. It is odd, I change it to mailman.mailman and it works fine, but it gets changed back to mail.mailman when someone sends mail to the list. Administrator password not working after installation

I just installed Mailman on my system, and I have created a list. I was able to subscribe to the list, post to the list and receive mail from the list. I can't get to the adminstration pages though because it won't accept my password. I keep getting "Sorry, wrong password, Please try again". I know that this question has been asked before, but I can't find a response that explains how to fix this. I do not have another copy of python on my system as someone suggested might cause this problem. I have tried changing my site password using mmsitepass, but this password does not work either. The list password that was mailed to me when I created the list was correct (well, it was what I put in. Obviously mailman does not think it is correct). If anyone has any ideas, please let me know Joan

is my list hosed?

Cron recently started sending me several hundred emails a day, complaining about gate_news dying. I was running 1.1. The traceback seemed to be dying dealing with one of our lists ('members'). File Permissions & Upgrade

Well, I decided to take care of my file permission problems by performing an upgrade to v1.1 (was using v1.0). Now things are 'different'. I can get the listinfo html to display, but if someone tries to subscribe, they are told that the list doesn't exist (although check_db says the list is OK). There are two things I've found. 1) There is the host_name option: Host_name that mailman prefers (it's on general) 2) The one that got me. Make sure the masquerading is turned off in sendmail (DM I think is the appropriate class).
