quick note for those ugrading mailman

Just a quick note for people upgrading mailman to the current CVS (but always a good thing to remember any time you upgrade mailman): If you ugprade mailman and that upgrade includes changes to the list page templates, the mailman upgrade will NOT upgrade existing lists. You need to do that manually (there was a change to templates/subscribe.html in the current CVS, for instance) here's a quick way to figure out if your list pages need to be upgraded. 1) cd to ~mailman/lists For each … [View More]

How to track errors...

Hello everyone, I setup a list about two months ago and it was working just fine. About two weeks ago it stopped working for no apparent reason. Mail goes in, but nothing comes out. Where do I go to track the error? I've looked in the log file and have found nothing :/ |UDontNoMe|

Switching servers

Are there any caveats to moving a mailman installation from one server to another? So far, I thought of basically the following: - Shutdown sendmail on both servers (so messages don't get received/sent during down time) - Switch DNS IP to new server - Install fresh copy of Mailman on the new server (usual setup) o This is where it's somewhat blank to me, can I just tar/gz up the old installation of Mailman from the old server (sans stuff like ~/Mailman, ~/… [View More]

Hi! Could someone tell me how to handle the following situation? Thanks! Our office manages four different listservs. John Doe might be on all four of these lists. When the same message needs to get out to all four of these lists, John Doe gets four of the same message (because he has subscribed to all four.)
