Hello, I'm a bit new to the whole mailman configuration thing and am a bit stumped. I'm trying to configure the background color of the submission results page. I sucessfully edit the HTML with the new background color and look and feel configurations, but when viewed, my background is still white. If I look at the HTML code there appears to be THREE (3) body tags, 2 of which are not in my pasted HTML (see below snippet). Any help would be appreciated. At first this wasn't consistently happening but now it is. History: Upgraded Apache using the instructions at StepWise, with a little assistance from another site I've forgotten. I am trying to remove a list. Hi, I'm having a problem which I can't seem to solve for myself. The setup: * Mailman 2.0.6 * Apache 1.3.19 Setting up Mailman was easy, administration via the webinterface works, and I can send mails to list members without problems. But, I can't seem to _save_ any changes to reply_goes_to_list and reply_to_address in a consistent manner. I am having a hard time going to http://lilpup.mymachine.com/mailman/archives, whenever I do it generates: We're sorry, we hit a Bug in Mailman version 2.0.6 Please inform the webmaster for this site of this problem. Everything else about this server that I've tested so far works wonderfully. I have searched the web for this problem, and I have found that there are a number of active mailman servers with this same error. Is this an Apache mis-configuration? I have seen this same problem from people using versions of mailman going all the way back to 2.0beta1, so I am inclined to think it is a server-config problem, not a bug within mailman but i really do not know. I was reading this post with interest at yet another solution to the problem that many of us seem to face: * We want to exclude posters to those in the list and a set of 'other' users * We need to do this in a manageable way and minimise errors This sounds like a good alternative presented by Brent - ie subscribe the 'other' users as silent members to automatically include them in the list. I thought I might share it with the group and it's still probably the best for us at present. I manage 116 lists at our School - one for every subject and some extra lists for staff. All staff needs to be able to post but I want to keep the lists closed to outsiders. My solution was to write a 'reconfig' script to go through all posts and change a configuration option. In my case a list of posters, posters.conf, who can post to the list. I add a poster to poster.conf then run the reconfig script. This makes general changes to all scripts fairly painless, as long as you know the configuration keyword and format. The only drawback is that at present I have to go back to any lists that are open and remove the posters, otherwise *only* these posters can post to these lists... Inspired by nomail.py by Dan Mick <dmick(a)utopia.West.Sun.COM>, I've made some patches to 2.0.6 (attached) that allow list_members and sync_members to deal with the "nomail" and "hide" options (using a new -N flag). This is to allow me to add multiple addresses for each user, with all but one set to "nomail+hide", to solve the only-members-can-post problem. I want to emphasise that this is pretty much a hack.
