Hi! I'm using Hypermail and Mailman. Mailman is just for getting posts from newsgroups, and Hypermail converts posts from newsgroups and mailing lists to HTML format. My problem is simple : when I get news, the mbox file from Mailman, analyzed by Hypermail is huge. Hi, I installed mailman and went through that GID problem, but managed to set it to run with the correct GID of 2. I'm on a Linux running slackware with the 2.4.5 kernal, default sendmail 8.11.4. The web page is fine and everything shows up, but when I try to subscribe via the web interface or send a mail to any of the mailing lists, I get nothing at all. No welcome mail no nothing. Not able to see the listinfo ( mailing lists ) after mailman migration to version 2.x.

Hi, I have migrated mailman service from a old server running mailman version 1.x to a new server with new mailman version 2.x. Everything works fine for both new as well as old mailing lists. But, I am not able to see old mailing lists on listinfo page. Is there anything I missed during migration of old mailing lists. I am able to see both new as well as old mailing lists on admin page. Any help on this is highly appreciated. Thanks -Hemanta

Archives not showing threading

I am using mailman-2.0.6 on RedHat Linux 6.2 machine. None of mail archives show the indented threading when the view by thread sort is selected. All messages are left-justified. Is there any configuration of mailman, pipermail, etc, that needs to be done to enable this? Thanks, David Gilbert dagilbert(a)west.raytheon.com

Hi, I've taken a dedicated server where in the cpanel we get the option of using your mailing list mailman software. Everything works fine but I'd love to get rid of the extensive header sent with each messagge. How would I do that? thanks Peter Smith - serverity.com

Problems installing 2.0.6 as a different user

Hi folks, I'm presently running a Mailman 1.1 installation that I'm trying to upgrade to 2.0.6, and am running into a bit of a problem. Since I run multiple installations of Mailman on my system, rather than running it under the mailman user, I run each installation under its own user. Under normal circumstances, the CGIs are executed as the user on that machine that owns the installation, with the daemon group (which Sendmail runs as on my box) having some access as well. When I create a new list, if I'm doing it as mailman, I can't add entries to the aliases file since it's owned by root. Also, when I try running newaliases, I get a permission denied. Currently, when I run newaliases as root, after manually adding something to the aliases file, it doesn't seem to take. I still can't e-mail to that new alias I created. Rob, I have webmin installed. It has a majordomo interface, but I don't see a mailman one? Can you point me to it somewhere? I'm also having difficulties getting to www.webmin.com I can get to sourceforge.net, but don't see a webmin mailman add on there either. --Will
