Is there a better way to handle the mailman aliases instead of just editing my /etc/aliases file and running newaliases. When I get to over 200 lists its going to be a nightmare file. Thanks

Searching mailman archives ... how ?!?

Query about e-mail commands (response)

I recently tried to subscribe 20-30 persons to one of my lists via email. This was my experience: * The first email contained about ten one-line commands subscribe listname nodigest address=whatever(a)yahoo.com * To my suprise only the first line's address gave a return message saying that it had got subscribed. Does this mean: (i) the others didn't get subscribed (ii) others got subscribed but didn't show (iii) I need to send separate commands for each address? Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Digest error and multiple copies of the digest

Getting the following error when digest is sent, followed by multiple copies of the digest sent to digest subscribers. Lists mailaddress

Is it possible to change the mailadress of my list? I am runnning mailman on a local machine with some sick adress, but it is to be used with a .com domain with email forwarding. I want mailman to report the adress list(a)domain.com instead of listname(a)local.machine. Is this possible? Regards, Frank Olaf Sem-Jacobsen

Hi all, I would appreciate some help with the following : Just upgraded to qmail 1.03 from sendmail. Anytime I try to send an email to the <list>-admin(a)host.com address I am getting the following error in my maillog : delivery 18: deferral: Mailman_error:_mailowner_got_bad_listname:_<list>/ I added the preline to the alias files as well with no change. I *did* have to replace the wrapper with one compiled to work with the nofiles group. Any ideas would be appreciated ! Moshe __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Lock File Problem

I have Mailman 2.0.11 installed on my server and I have a mailinglist with about 8,000 users. I notice that sometimes when I go into the admin section and I try to do administration tasks it starts to have problems. I will sometimes get messages from the script saying "We're sorry, we hit a bug!". I notice that it creates these lock files in the /home/mailman/locks that never leave. Is there a solution to this problem?

Hi, Is it possible to change where a list points the archives link to? As in, change from "pipermail" to "some-list-archives". The reason for this is multiple Mailman installations on one machine, and you can't have the same Alias in httpd.conf. Thanks very much, Peter Vibert

A single list not working

Hi all.. I'm new to the list and have a quick question. I have been running mailman for nearly 2 years now, and ran into an odd problem this week that I *have* to be missing the obvious on. I have about 10 lists..one of which has about 22K users. Last week, posting to this list worked just fine. This week it doesn't appear to do anything with the message. All other lists are working fine. The qmail log shows 1025279881.775349 new msg 112244 1025279881.775473 info msg 112244: bytes 1478 from <brad.lastname(a)domain.net> qp 9193 uid 100 1025279881.780019 starting delivery 75443: msg 112244 to local outages(a)lists.domain.com 1025279881.780032 status: local 1/10 remote 0/20 1025279881.787793 delivery 75443: success: did_1+0+0/ 1025279881.787801 status: local 0/10 remote 0/20 1025279881.787807 end msg 112244 The .qmail file for includes the correct !preline message in it, all other lists are working fine, so I have ruled qmail itself out. There were no major configuration changes to this list. Can anyone tell me what i'm over looking? I would hate to have to rebuild this list. Thank you Erin Martin
