how to generate list of administrators

I want to create a mailing list of the list administrators. How do I generate this. I'd rather not access each list for this info. -Cassandra

As Mike says, look at the Privacy options. SquirrelMail is exceptionally well-behaved (I use it myself and recommend it) so I am surprised to see its mails rejected. However, because it is web based and (in the default configuration) runs sendmail to send messages, there is one header you might well see: X-Authentication-Warning: sample.com: apache set sender to yourid(a)sample.com using -f and I suppose someone might be filtering for that.

Hi, How do I get the field labelled "Host name this list prefers" on the admin page "mailing list administration General Options Section" to correctly handle a sub-domain (aka three part machine name, e.g. foo.domain.com) so that mail sent from adminstrative aliases comes from listname-admin(a)foo.domain.dom instead of listname-admin(a)domain.dom ? right now, if I use a subdomain/3 part machine name for an existing virtual host (which is listed in all the appropriate files to give the virtual host full permissions in sendmail.cf) it defaults to the domain of the server's real domain. i.e. if I enter 'foo.virtdoman.dom' in the "host name this list prefers" the emails incorrectly come 'From:' listname-admin(a)realdomain.dom. Yet if I use only 'virtdomain.dom' in the "host name this list prefers" then the emails do come from 'listname-admin(a)virtdomain.dom' as I would expect. Is there a config I've missed to allow the from address to use a sub-domain/3 part machine name in the "From:" field? Is it a bug? Is it a feature? Is there a particular item in a .py file I could edit to allow this? tia, ~steven

moderated list

Hallo all I have setup a moderated list. If I send there from a subscribed email adres I gat the outo response from mailman and the notice that my post is being held for approval. In the listmanagers email account I get the usual mail that tells me that there is a mail waiting my approval. When I click on the link it takes me to the correct page but then it says the following There are no pending requests Where did it go??? I cannot post to the list now as I cannot approve anything and the user posting gets a messsage saying that I will look at his post but I cannot and now they think I am ignoring them !!!!!!! Setup MM2.1b2 ...outgoing goes to shunt dir.

I am trying to install Mailman-2.1b2 on a Gentoo Linux box that is running Apache and Qmail and dcron and a few other things but they are the ones needed for Mailman. The web part is working perfect. I have it set to SMTPDirect and I created the mailman list as per the instructions. When I add someone to the list it saves the email msg in the shunt dir under qfiles. Once I get this part working then I will start on the qmail part. Any ideas why it's going to shunt instead of out (I presume it should be going into the out dir). All seven qrunner deamons are running in ps -aux. I do see in /var/qmail/log/error something about SMTP Server Disconnected, but when I telnet from the box running mailman to the smtp server it should be delivering to I can send mail to the person subscribed. hostname instead of of FQDN

Hi, I just reinstalled mailman 2.1b2 on a fresh RedHat 7.3 with Postfix. Even if the configure script detyects the FQDN of the machine and writes it to Default.py, the headers of the list messagaes and the HTML pages contain just the hostname of the mailman server, so every URL is broken. Any suggestion? Thanks. Ciao, luigi
