Possible bug with confirmation string & excessive bounces

We recently upgraded to Mailman 2.1.3. On one list (an unmoderated list), I get the following message: "Your membership in the mailing list Delphi-Talk has been disabled due to excessive bounces The last bounce received from you was dated 25-Dec-2003. You will not get any more messages from this list until you re-enable your membership. You will receive 3 more reminders like this before your membership in the list is deleted." When I follow the provided link, I get the following error message: "Bad confirmation string Invalid confirmation string: e00502102de3e568a5354639dbdcd116cf11a44a. Note that confirmation strings expire approximately 3 days after the initial subscription request. If your confirmation has expired, please try to re-submit your subscription. Otherwise, re-enter your confirmation string." I've searched the lists and find that this error is mentioned often but no solution is given. Any thoughts? Ken

Hello Sir / Miss I'm a Dutch guy and I have my own site for 3 months now. I want to make a news letter each month and send it to people who subscribed for it. My question is: Is this possible with Mailman. If yes are there any tutorials about how to do this. Because I have made a mail list on my web space account and watched it. But there are so many options. I hope u can an will help me with my problem. Michael, Here is the line I use in cron to send me a backup of my list every Sunday night. Hello I have a host running mailman 2.0.13 It is named maillists.my.domain, maillists.xxx.my.domain, and mailman.my.domain. All are FQDN. All my lists appear when accessing any of these domain names. I have set up a new server running 2.1.3 and I have the same senario with two FQDN maillists.xxx.my.domain and maillists.my.domain however my lists only show up on one or the other of the FQDN's depending on what I have DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST and DEFAULT_URL_HOST set to. How do I see my lists from either hostname? TIA Con Wieland UC Irvine

admindb cgi functions don't work.

Hi. I've updated to mailman 2.1.3 on my rh7.3 system. The lists work. Most of the admin functions work. Check_perms says everything is ok. However, the functions available from the admindb CGI don't work. They didn't in 2.1-8 either. There seems to be no error log I can locate. I know admindb is running because I moved it and the Web server complained, so it is looking at the right CGI. But it doesn't do any of the four available status changes when I try them on any message in any list. This would seem to indicate a systemic problem in the CGI. The group ownership is correct as is the SGID setting. Are there any diagnostics I can turn on in mailman? Does anyone have ANY clue what might be going on here? I have a backlog of held messages I'd very much like to clear up. First install the new python using the altinstall option: wget http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.2.2/Python-2.2.2.tgz tar xvzf Python-2.2.2.tgz cd Python-2.2.2 ./configure make make altinstall This puts Python2.2 at /usr/local/bin/python2.2. Give that location in the Mailman configuration. My config statement was: ./configure --with-mail-gid=mail --with-python=/usr/local/bin/python2.2 --with-cgi-gid=apache My full information on the install OUTSIDE the chrooted environment on Ensim 3.0 is at http://forums.ev1servers.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=23118 .
