I remember reading somewhere that mailman can operate with a MySQL backend? If that is so, they it should be possible to develop a diffrent front end, to interface with users, add users to mailman etc etc. Is there any truth to this??

Digest Errors

My system (Red Hat 7.2, Mailman 2.1.2) has been running fine since it was installed, until this past Thursday. I had this problem a while back. Barry tracked it down to being a user without a password. Thanks again Barry!. Upgrade to 2.1.2. There are patches that were rolled onto 2.1.2 to deal with this situation a little more gracefully. Barry also sent me the following bin/withlist function to test fo missing passwords. Save this to ban/verify.pl then invoke it as 'bin/withlist -r verify listname' (where listname is, of course, the name of your list). Find you user with a null password and then set … [View More]

search list of subscribers?

I am a list administrator, but don't really know much about how mailman works. I can find a particular user if I know his/her email address by looking in the alphabetical list of subscribers, but how do I search for everyone from a particular domain, for example? peace, ted ___ Humanize the Earth! http://www.chicagohumanist.org http://www.tedernst.com

VirtualHosting and Mailman

Hi I have installed mailman successfully, and would like to know how I can do virtualhosting... The scenario is: 1) the client wants to have his own listman page ( for the lists of his domain, say, news(a)abc.org) 2) now, since we also run lists for other domains, the address news(a)abc.org is conflicting with news(a)xyz.org. Hi All... I'm new to using Mailman on my websites, so I have a lot of questions. I set the option for sending monthly password reminders, thinking "this sound like a good idea." Then the reminder arrived last night and lo and behold it had a different password. What's up with this? Seems funky and will be totally confusing for my users. So, I'm turning it off unless someone can explain to me why it works this way. Thanks.
