Posting acknowledgements global option?

I created a new list and invited some members. All the new members are now set to get a posting acknowledgement and I can't see a reason why. I cannot find a global setting for this. It doesn't seem to be "autorespond_postings", that is off. I searched the FAQ for "acknowledgement" and "acknowledgment", but there isn't anything. Displaying Entire Membership List

Hello, Under the menu path of Membership Management...[Membership List] I am trying to enter a search string which will return the entire list of my members when using Find member (help): Can someone provide me with the proper search string? I am using 2.1.5. Thank you -Mark

no public archives possible

Hi all, I have a problem creating public archives on my server, running a multi-domain environment. Private archives are not problem. The appropriate domain is used in the links and the archives is accessible for all who have the password. But as soon as I switch the flag to "public", the links to the archive (from the several pages in Mailman webfrontend) point to the wrong domain. Spam problems with mailman

It seems mailmain is victim of its own popularity! I have subscribed recently to a mailman mailing list (http://stp.ling.uu.se/mailman/listinfo/dcml), posted a few messages there with a totally new email address, and quickly started receiveing spam. I have two friends with the same experience. It seems spamers can easily collect email addresses from the "user at domain.com" text on archive web pages. hai! i love this list. and i've searched it thoroughly all the way back to 2002. and while i have found a few messages/replies that address the problem i'm having ... none of them have helped me to solve things. i'll keep this short and sweet. mailman is up and running on redhat 8. there are no error messages in logs, maillog or the webserver error log. when i send a message to the list i get a mailer daemon response that says: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors … [View More]

Moving Archives to Mailman with Correct Dates

Is there a way to temporarily or permanently force mailman to use the message date rather than the server date for new posts? I'm moving my lists from dolist 3.x to Mailman 2.1.5 and I need mailman to retain message dates while I move the old dolist archives to mailman. I thought it would be easy since dolist will allow me to send some or all messages in its archive as individual emails (retaining original dates and headers), but alas Mailman changes the dates to the current server date. … [View More]

Mailman "webcreate" page and proxy-ing problems

I've been running Mailman 2.0.x through a proxy to the /localhost/ so as to only need one single install of Mailman across a number of virtual domains for sometime now. it's worked well under 2.0.x... one install - many domains. I've recently upgraded to Python 2.3 and the Mailman 2.1.5 release....all the old /admin/ /listinfo/ etc.. pages continue to work with this scheme... Broken pipe ??

I am trying to set up a user mailing list for one of my free software projects. At first sight, everything seems to work, you can send mail, get confirmation mails etc.. BUT NO !!! Responses to confirmation mails never trigger the welcome message, and users can't get registered... I did manage to register once, then I could not unregister: each time, I was receiving the confirmation mail, answered, got the final mail saying it was ok, but my mail was still on the list !!!
