Hi, I cuttently have mailman set up on my webserver. We're getting a lot of trouble with hotmail and its junk mail filters. Do you have any tip and tricks on getting mail delivered straight into the inbox without training. Thanks Matthew Wheeler

Content-filtering - is filtering of content-description possible?

Is in the Content filtering section possible to define only content-type? I suggest that it should be also possible to define Content-description. Because Pegasus Mail for example when is sending an attachment it adds content-descriprion, and mailman filter although removes the attachment itself, it does not remove the content-describtion causing to send to the list a message with the following text content:

Manually deleting mm_q files

I'm going to be upgrading an old mailman 1.0 install to 2.x In looking around at our old install I've discovered a lot of old que files in .../mailman/data/ such as 1534 May 25 2001 mm_q.29687.1 1534 May 25 2001 mm_q.29683.1 1532 May 25 2001 mm_q.29660.1 1532 May 25 2001 mm_q.29656.1 1532 May 25 2001 mm_q.29652.1 1532 May 25 2001 mm_q.29631.1 1532 May 25 2001 mm_q.29627.1 Many of these files are three years old. Can I delete this old stuff manually without causing any problems elsewhere? Thanks for any info you can provide... -- Andy

How to change comment sent by Mailman with rejected posts?

When in Content filtering Section I set Reject as Action to take when a message matches the content filtering rules, then the sender of the message, which was rejected, receives the following e-mail from Mailman: "The message's content type was not explicitly allowed" How could I change that message? Is there any form where I could put new text of the message, and if there is no form, could you please add it in future version of Mailman? ak

Viewing attachments prior to approval

Hello I would like to be able to view attachments prior to them being approved for distribution to the membership. I've searched the archives but have not been able to locate this information. The Content Filter is set at No, thus the attachment is not stripped. Much thanks for your assistance Valerie Brideau

error when running "arch"

I got the following error when rebuilding archives for a list (OpenBSD Mailman 2.1.5 installed from OpenBSD ports. It turned out the actual problem was a permissions problem on /var/spool/mailman/lists/[listname] (it was owned by root:_mailman instead of _mailman:_mailman). Should I file a bug about this (that the error isn't more specific)? It would be much more helpful if this said "Cannot write to /var/spool/mailman/lists/nord-modular" or something rather than "MemoryError".
