Can't authorize a post through the web interface

I am receiving the emails from Mailman telling me that, as administrator, I need to authorize the delivery of a posting. It includes a link (for my convenience) to access the admin web page and approve the posting. However, my browser times out every time I try to link to it. Is there something that could be wrong with my server? Is there a way to approve this posting without going to the web? HELP! Help with Mailman HTML code.

Pls help. I seem to have messed up one of the HTML pages for our Mailman list. Resulting HTML is at http://list.proneuron.com/mailman/listinfo/proneuron1 I think that I accidentally ommitted one of the "<MM" tags that generates the user subscription form. As a result, the SUBSCRIBE button does not work. HTML code is attached below my signature. Please tell me what <MM code I need to insert, or send me a default listinfo page so that I can figure it out for myself. Settings for an Announcements List

What would be the default settings for a 1-way list for announcements? I would want to set the list up so that the moderator, who may not be a member, can send out announcements to the members. I downloaded the v2.0 pdf administration documentation, and found the postings privileges settings had significantly altered! TIA David

Option to suppress senders' email addresses?

Hi All, Is there any way to tell MailMan to display only the sender's name, rather than name and email address? E.g. "Douglas McCarroll" rather than "Douglas McCarroll <douglas(a)brightworks.com>". TIA Douglas

In the topic definition form, how can one specify a topic that is only messages that DOES NOT have the string [G2] in it. Is there a way to test regeps without setting up a separte test list? Thanks much... Howard

Upgrade question

Having moved from mailman 2.0.11 to 2.1.5, I'm left with a few questions: 1) What, if anything, do I need to do to make sure the old lists work with the new mailman? When I installed 2.1.5, it told me that it checked/fixed/converted lists at the very end of the installation. Does that mean I'm all done, and I don't have to do anything else with the list files? 2) Paths also changed when I upgraded. The previous installation was in /usr/people/mailman, and it's now in /home/mailman. Presumably, all the lists are still assuming they're using the old path. What needs to be done to get that solved? Feel free to simply point me to the appropriate answer somewhere on the web, if it's available.

My first experience with Mailman was not a good one. Of course, the issue I first posted to the list can be attributed to the fact that web services were not enabled on my OS 10.3 Server. However, the first few test posts that I sent to the list went out to everyone successfully. Unfortunately, the replies that were sent by recipients on the list, however unnecessary, were sent to everyone on the list. This caused quite a problem. A great many of the folks on the list were excited to see it back in action (we had previously been using LetterRIP Pro) but when they received numerous emails from other folks on the list, it made them question our ability to host a list. I had all the users, except myself, set for no-posting to the list, yet they were all able to do so. What did I do wrong? One other aside, When one uses an email command to a list such as; listname-unsubscribe(a)lists.domain.com To a list that is set up announcement only or emergency moderation, the first thing you get back is the message one has set to say, e.g. " sorry, only administrators can post to this list ". *Then* one receives the bounce with instructions on how to unsubscribe., Have I missed a setting that would stop admin requests receiving such a first email or is it just one of those things arising because Mailman is really not meant to be used as announcement only list?
