Hello, how exactly gateway_to_mail option and feature works for news/mailman gateway? Is there any need to configure INN for this ability , or Mailman does everything on self? How is this implemented? Thanks in advance! David

create mailinglist from commandline with parameters

Hello all, for my script i need to be able to create new mailinglist and after that set up configuration specifics from command line also. I will create a new mailinglist with newlist -q option . Then i need to assing mail/news gateway configuration specifics (nntp_host,linked_newsgroup ...) to that mailinglist from command line also. How can i do it? Thanks in advance David

Email html editing

Hi Folks I create an email newsletter. What I need to do is create an HTML version and a text version, that while having the same basic content are organized to present the information in an intelligible form and doesn't radically mess with final format. Most email programs I have looked at don't have the option of separately editing the text and/or create lousy html Thanks Rob

Mail getting stuck in queue

Intermittently, but increasingly frequently, the mailman I'm running is getting into a state where messages are received and archived, but not logged in the "posts" file or sent out by smtp. This situation usually resolves itself after I kick it enough. Maybe it would resolve itself if I didn't kick it at all. I would like to understand what's happening, so I can either stop it happening, or kick it more efficiently. This is on a mailman 2.1.10 installed from source on ubuntu 7.10. The mail log indicates that postfix has passed the stuck mails to mailman: Jun 6 12:12:47 serpent postfix/local[12334]: 8139F240324: to=<bonnienews(a)serpent.laymusic.org>, relay=local, delay=0.31, delays=0.05/0.01/0/0.25, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to command: /home/mailman/mail/mailman post bonnienews) I've checked all the things in <http://www.python.org/cgi-bin/faqw-mm.py?req=show&file=faq04.078.htp>. At one point, there was a second (old) OutgoingRunner process after I had stopped and started mailmanctl several times, which I had to kill by hand, but usually this isn't the case. Here's my kick_mailman.sh script; I also reboot the system when I've tried this and it hasn't worked. When the queue gets unclogged, it isn't ever immediately after any of these things, including the reboot. Hi Folks I am new to mailman, climbing a very steep hill. I have a virtual private apache server, which can handle several domains. does mailman have to reside on the root or can it reside on one of the domains. i would prefer it to run from one of the domains so the email addresses have some relevance to the domain. Mailman not speaking with MTA?

We're running X Server 10.4.11 on a G5 Xserve. Mailman 2.1.5 The server hosts a few mailman lists that subscribed departmental users post to. Last weekend, the webperfcache_log grew extremely large and filled up the server's boot drive. We have since recovered and the server seems fine, save for mailman. I can get welcome e-mails when I join lists, but I cannot get any list e-mails if I post to them. I made sure my account receives posts that I make. problem with subscription confirmation string

I have previously had problems with this and since moving to a new server, it doesn't seem to work quite right. I use Postfix.
