Web interface domain woes

I nearly complete setting up my new list server however I am running into a problem with the web interface. The interface is resolving to a different FQDN than what I want. I have edited the mm_cfg_py and restarted mailman (added DEFAULT_URL_HOST and DEFAULT_MAIL_HOST) and am at a loss as to what to do next.... Thank you in advance, Johnathen (Host: OS X Tiger, Mailman 2.1.11, Postfix) Postfix resolves to the correct domain and can send/receive emails...

Error running bin/mailmanctl restart

In my migration of a MacOS 10.5.8 server from mailman 2.1.9 to 2.1.12, I discovered I had to install Python 2.5.4 and XCode 3.2.1 to get a compiler. It compiled with the command: /configure --prefix=/usr/share/mailman --with-cgi-gid=_www --with-mail-gid=mail --with-mailhost=domain.com --with-urlhost=domain.com But now when I try and run I get: server:mailman-2.1.12 paul$ sudo /usr/share/mailman/bin/mailmanctl restart Restarting Mailman's master qrunner PID unreadable in: /usr/share/mailman/data/master-qrunner.pid [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/share/mailman/data/master-qrunner.pid' Is qrunner even running? Mass Removal

I am unable to use commands on my server, so I am looking for a way to mass-remove all subscribers from a given list. As I can view all list subscribers on a long screen, the easiest for me would be to mark the individual subscribers in the column 'unsub', but it would take a long time to this for each member individually. Is it possible to mark all members in the 'unsub' column in one go? Herward

I am upgrading a MacOSX 10.5.8 Server with Mailman 2.1.9 to 2.1.12. In attempting to ./configure mailman, I encounter the following: Distutils is not available or is incomplete for /usr/bin/python Here is the version information I have on Python: Python 2.5.1 (r251:54863, Feb 6 2009, 19:02:12) [GCC 4.0.1 (Apple Inc. build 5465)] on darwin Suggestions on how to proceed? Creating aliases for moved lists

I have moved several lists to a new box with virtual domains. I have moved /archives and /lists, used with_list and fix_url but I remembered something about aliases and looked and saw ~/mailman/data/aliases does not contain the moved lists. How to get relative paths in MM admin/moderator links?

We're running MM 2.1.9 at work. I noticed much to my chagrin today that all the links in the admin interface appear to be absolute URLs. At work they have this annoying habit of never using the FQDN for hosts, so our MM machine is just "lists". I can edit the URL to use the FQDN and thus get to the website via our VPN, but all the links are still http://lists/mailman/... Moving lists on one box with several virtual hosts

I have several Mailman lists on one box that has several virtual sites. I need to move them to a new box and I want to change the web address for users to manage their addresses from virtual1.tld to www.virtual1.tld. Looking at both config_list and with_list, I do not see a way to do that. I see how I may assign a domain for the list, but not one that assigns a domain for the web address to the list. I would not think I needed to do this but whenever I try and access the list page with virtual1.tld it succeeds and it fails with www.virtual1.tld. Thanks for any help you can provide. Hi i am having a problem with mailman migration. I am able to shift 2.0 to 2.1.5 recently in centOS 3 server. Everything is working just fine. But the problem is when people using reply to from there MUA. If they use reply to from MUA its assign address xyz(a)domian.com but it should xyz(a)lists.domain.com The setting in Defaults.py and mm_cfg.py is according to manual. Every time people reply to they need to manually change the reply to address. Please help me. -ekram

Automatic rejection on message size?

Hello - I've scoured the wiki, FAQ, and mailing list archives but perhaps I'm not using the right keywords... I'm looking to have Mailman (2.1.9) automatically reject messages that exceed our pre-set size limitation. Why? We have a large number of users who cut/paste debug logs, code snippets, SVN output, and all manner of text into their messages. These are NOT attachments; they're text in the message body that is not MIME encoded. I manage two dozen or so lists, and every day I get at least 10 moderated messages in my to-be-moderated queues that are all there because of size overruns. This gets really tedious, since all I do is "Reject" them with a message about their post exceeding the size limit. I see no obvious way that I can set a list (or the whole system, for that matter) to auto-reject with a message based on size of the message. It would actually seem to me that this would be a desirable setting to have overall - is there a recipe for modifying the filter/ actions so that I can make this happen? I'm not a python wizard (or even neophyte) and I have very little understanding of the internals of Mailman at this point, so I'd kindly ask that any hints someone has to offer could be worded in a way that is approachable by a skilled *NIX admin but not a developer or Mailman wizard. :-) Thanks!
