I have found a way to do this. It may be common knowledge but no one answered me, so I thought I would post the answer for anyone searching the archive in the future.

There is a script in bin called arch that will archive a mail box. You just copy the majordomo mailbox archive into the archive/private/list.mbx then run the bin/arch script on the new mbx file.
