I have a mailman list to which if I send a word doc, it gets stored at .bin in the archives. What do I need to make it store as a normal .doc file ?

Meanwhile, there are a lot of deranged email clients roaming the planet that even send *text* attachments as application/octet-stream, which the current pipermail archives oh-so-helpfully rename to .exe files, feeding all sorts of paranoid fantasies among list members.
Even letting the the file name change like it does currently but keeping the extension intact would have been useful; the current system is nearly useless.
