I get the above mentioned error in my mailman installation. The complete trackback is:

UnicodeError: ASCII decoding error: ordinal not in range(128)

The mailman-Install is a rather recent CVS checkout. The code in line 99 is: ufooter = unicode(footer, lcset)

There might be an Umlaut in the footer causing this, but then all my lists have that. Any help is appreciated.
