I am hoping that someone will be able to help me out here.
I have been using mailman for a while now and am very familiar and happy with its functionality!
I have a client that wants to bring his list over to mailman, he has roughly 200,000 subscribers to this list and it is used once a month for a newsletter.
The system I will be putting this on is a pretty beafy dell edge server running RH AS3.0, dual processor and 1 GB of memory. Sendmail for MTA.
Has anyone ever had experience or heard of how mailman/sendmail will play with a list of this size?
Thanks, Hauns

I run a list of 8,000 contacts and I ran out of memory. My virtual server was a bit older -- and the ceiling was very low. I've since been in the upgrade / migration to a new server. So, I hope to be running again soon. But, there was a problem with memory errors.
However, it sounds (rookie guess) that you'll be okay given the box you described.
