Highlighted text disappears

I already know the answer that this has nothing to do with mailman, but I want your opinion:
When members send emails that are highlighted, we receive it ok, but when people reply or forward the same email, the highlight is gone. I tested with the same users sending them private emails (outside of mailman) and it all works ok.
Any idea why if we use mailman, the highlight disappears? is it a settings issue? I am doing the same highlight here to see if it will work for this group.
