Possible to include unique link to archive in each message?

I've often wanted to know the URL of a specific message in an archive of a Mailman list so that I could refer to it in a later message. Unless I'm missing something, finding the URL requires manually going to the archive and searching for the message even if I happen to have it in front of me in my mail client. I can't directly derive the archive URL just from looking at the message header or body in the mail client.
Can Mailman include the web archive URL for a message in the message header itself? Say in something like a "X-This-Message-In-Archive" header or perhaps in a footer in the body?
I've never noticed this in a Mailman list and I don't know if it is possible but it seems like something that would be quite useful. It would save manual steps when people need to refer to an existing message.
Apologies if this is possible and I've just missed it (or if it's not turned on by most lists).
As far as I can see, Mailman should have all the info it needs to be able to add such a header or footer field.

Mailman 2 can't. Mailman 3 is able to do it, but I'm not sure what the state of the art on implementing this conveniently for list owers is.

Nope. Mailman core doesn't have the sequence number as used in the archive (it is not necessarily the same as the one that would be put in the Subject header). It's the province of the archiver, which is a separate progrom. So Mailman has no idea what the sequence number is. What Mailman 3 provides is a way for the archiver to tell Mailman what the URL will be.
