and working like a charm as a mail server and relay point for 70 people, i read the smrsh error in the install doc and went hunting for it, but it doesn't exist in any form...

Then you need to link or copy the binaries that are allowed to be executed by sendmail into a particular directory. Dunno where.

Nevertheless : The wrapper IS EXECUTED, thus it's not SMRSH problem.
