I'm updating to b9 but I have a few questions. If I don't do 'make update' rather 'make install' will it successfully overwrite? I'd like to change some options that were used in the configure process.
I'm not sure I got them correct.

BTW, in the UPGRADING text file - which directs to give the 'make update' command - it'd be nice to mention that one should run configure first.
