Hi, you can simple write a cron that sends mail to your list announcing the birthdays or whatever, but, as Paul Byerly says you can do a script for that purpose. It will be more usefull for sure.

Most folks use a cronjob to mail out FAQ's and other periodic mailings. If you look at mailman you will see that it also uses cronjobs to send out its monthly mailings and it's daily digests.
Its an easy thing to do.
