We use mailman distribution lists to send out attachments to people around the world. I noticed that these attachments when viewed in the archives using Netscape are showing in line rather than converting to an attachment you can read. Is there anything I can do to change this? Most of the email addresses in the lists are accessed using Outlook, and I also send out the attachments using this program.

pipermail will not extract MIME types and display them in an appropriate format via the Web, so you need to look towards an external archiver for this type of functionality.

Take a look at the PUBLIC_EXTERNAL_ARCHIVER definition in your mm_cfg.py file.

I recommend using MHonArc (available at

http://www.mhonarc.org/

) for this type of thing -- it's a fully MIME-aware, flexible archiver.
