I've changed the title and added a [JOB] prefix. Anyone posting a job listing please make sure you add a [JOB] prefix in the subject. All those who have queries or want to apply, can/should reply only the the person who has posting the job listing not to whole of the group. Hello everyone, So the much awaited meetup of June was held today at Stirring Minds (location arranged by Amit Sethi). Here is a brief summary of the events. My apologies in advance if i missed out on some things plz feel free to contribute. Also a small note for role specific call for volunteers we will be sending out another mail with a form to submit your interest in various fields and branches plz don't start calling here itself. So here goes the summary: - introductions: - it was a very decent turnout around 30 or more people showed up. - why pydelhi? - saurabh explanined why we have renamed ourselves - disscussion about pycon 2016 feasiblity and strengthning the resolve - discussion about mini pycon and other repsonsiblity available in 2015 - talks proposal for python delhi - we have untill october to pycon 2015 - we are planning to have atleast 6 talks recorded and put up on youtube channel. - a mail tread is already there asking for proposals and ideas. Jump in on the discussion there. Spread the word out on social media as well. - discussion about readily available venues for regular meetups: - grophers(gurgaon) - lyxel labs(gurgaon) - jnu - 91 springboard(Okhla) - Sarai - ophio(noida) - can be your place as well as long as it is in the delhi-ncr limits and accessible by general mode of transport. - Flash talks: - open source lab in a bag(open hardware and open software with python) - introduction to pychill - home automation - how can the community work with the startups - we will be uploading the videos recorded by mobiles on our channel in the next couple of days. They are not very high quality. - we are working to sort the video recording and live streaming part better. - Call for volunteers to stregthen our proposal for Pycon India 2016: - Pycon india till now have been a total voluneter errort right from setting up website, wifi, streaming videos, arranging venues, finding speakers(Keynote), filtering talks, arranging cattering ticketing, registerations, managing sound systems and much much more. - Volunteers are an essential part in organizing pycon event - Various and roles you can volunteer for are: - Marketing (media partners, social media, website) - Sponsors affairs: - volunteer the task for pycon2015 buy getting in touch with anyone mentioned here https://in.pycon.org/2015/sponsorship.html - getting sponsors for pydelhi meetups - getting sponsors for pydelhi workshops - getting sponsors for possible mini pycon delhi 2015 - Long shot on this one but getting sponsors for possible Pycon 2016 (Delhi) - Location affairs (venue, hotel, parties, catering, equipment, wifi) - Finding venues - for local events like meetups and workshops - for big events like mini pycon and pycon - getting the facilities like internet(wifi), video recording, live stream, projectors, speaker systems etc - for big events like mini pycon and pycon - Food/Catering: - one of the most important thing at any big or small event - people at banglore have kept a very high standard for it. Hello everyone, Sorry for the delayed update but here it is. Keeping up the tradition of hangout session every thursday to corrdinate the volunteer efforts we assembled on 18-06-2015 21:00 hrs IST. Main outline of the discussions were: - Finalizing the votes count : - PyDelhi is what we are calling ourselves now after the vote. - Fine printing the roles and responsiblities: - Rebranding the community - Marketing (media partners, social media, website) - Sponsors affairs - Location affairs (venue, hotel, parties, catering, equipment, wifi) - Administration (ticket sales, attendee database, customer support) - Speakers’ affairs - Reaching out to people to compile a list of responsibilities that we might have left or not discussed here regarding hosting pycon and associated efforts. Hello everyone, If you have been following the recent activities the Banglore community is looking for volunteers to take up the task of hosting the Pycon 2016 in there city. To prepare ourselves for pitching in our candidature we planing to align our names under a new brand name of sort. Ncr is something that not everyone gets outside of our ncr region and when we say ncr its unclear its delhi, gurgaon, noida etc. Also everyone would agree that Delhi is the place where we want to meetup everytime. So we want to have a vote on the following names: 1) Pythondelhi 2) Pythondili 3) DelhiPy 4) Pydili 5) Delhipy Give a shout out on your name and feel free to advice your names as well. Also a sincere request to all you guys is lets close this as soon as possible so that we can start putting efforts in creating social media accounts and start creating the buzz.
