[Ncr-Python.in] [PyDelhi] Video Upload related help
Hey guys, I am done with the processing of the videos of the flash talks. Sadly only two of them are good enough to publish. I was wondering if we have any creative copy that can be added to the video pre-roll and post-roll. If not will someone want to take up the task of creating a media kit sort of thing for our group. That can be used for such tasks. -- Regards, pyvkd (Vinay Dahiya) http://vkd.me
[...] Sadly only two of them are good enough to publish.
Let's try to increase this number next time. What are all we need to make it happen.
I was wondering if we have any creative copy that can be added to the video pre-roll and post-roll.
We don't have it now. How about just having a our twitter logo to fade-in in the beginning and end with fade out of `http://pydelhi.org` text. If we want to do more, we should create a email thread asking if someone can come-up with a creative footage. Also, it will be handy if the process can be scripted/documented somewhere for anyone to render the final video.
If not will someone want to take up the task of creating a media kit sort of thing for our group. That can be used for such tasks.
I didn't understand the term 'media kit' completely, but see above and let's distribute a Google form with the requirements/responsibilities. -- **Saurabh Kumar https://saurabh-kumar.com On Sun, Jun 21, 2015 at 11:57 PM, Vinay Dahiya <vinay.not.nice@gmail.com> wrote:

well media kit is like logos banners and posters sort of that can be used by anyone for the promotion or mention of pydelhi. I will share a document with details of the process.
I didn't understand the term 'media kit' completely, but see above and let's distribute a Google form with the requirements/responsibilities.
media kit is term used for a bouquet of information to which one expects to be printed or covered in there respective media. Most of the time its a well written document with information about the event , it can be a video as well. -Satya Satyaakam.net <http://satyaakam.net/> | fossevents.in |
@satya/@vinay - if I understand properly, is it same as preparing a "branding guidelines for pycon"?. If yes, then we are one the same page. And in this thread, we are looking for creating it in context of videos we publish. -- **Saurabh Kumar https://saurabh-kumar.com On Mon, Jun 22, 2015 at 3:22 PM, satyaakam goswami <satyaakam@gmail.com> wrote:

branding is different term. When we say media kit , its docket with bunch of information which follows the media guidelines , its more of a byte for the media to publish or talk about you or to understand and come with questions when a media brief happens . just read this https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Press_kit -Satya Satyaakam.net <http://satyaakam.net/> | fossevents.in |
IMHO I think we are going way too deep into these things very early on. Lets just get going with our events. We can do branding much later. I remember seeing some conference actually use Sphinx for making their conference website - I think it was PyCon APAC. Hey sorry guys i think i used a very generic term while saying "media kit sort of thing" about what was required. All i wanted was to say was : To create a gallery of certain high resolution photos of logos and banners that can be used in various locations like videos, social media posts or other places like blog post etc. On Mon, Jun 22, 2015 at 4:08 PM, Vaidik Kapoor <kapoor.vaidik@gmail.com> wrote:

Thanks everyone for clarification on the term 'media kit'. There is always something to learn. :)
To create a gallery of certain high resolution photos of logos and banners that can be used in various locations like videos, social media posts or other places like blog post etc.
Right now, we have simple logo kit along with a banner that we use as Facebook/twitter/meetup. Let's go with it and we improve as we go. So, coming back topic: For video: let's go with intro as static fade-in logo and exist with fade-out "https://pydelhi.org" link. If this works for (asking Vinay), please someone help creating it (falls back to me who will create it). cheers, -- **Saurabh Kumar https://saurabh-kumar.com On Mon, Jun 22, 2015 at 4:15 PM, Vinay Dahiya <vinay.not.nice@gmail.com> wrote:

Yes i think that it works. Lets see how this comes out and if this is good enough. We will make a template out of it to be used. -- Regards, pyvkd (Vinay Dahiya) http://vkd.me

Hey, This looks decent, I think we can get started with this and as more people join and take up things it can keep evolving. Nice work Vinay. Shantanu
We would like to thank our friends at Colorblind Production for helping with the animation for our PyDelhi community logo. It's available under creative commons license and we will be using it for our published videos and elsewhere. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SV9RPbgJ4Ts Being a community, we value the contribution of people from any field and not just those who are directly coding in Python.
