I'd had a brief look at the code, and I think it's great! I particularly like the power available with the "numexpr.evaluate (string_expression)" syntax. I'd fully support your adding it to the scipy sandbox. I'm sure we could fill it out with more operators and data types quite fast. Great work! -- Ed
