I forgot to mention that my reluctance to install another Python version comes
from the distro I run on: Gentoo is unforgiving with the slightest issue with
Python, and I can't really afford the time to install Kubuntu on my only
machine...

But I thought Gentoo was for uber geeks? And testing the cpu cooler. Anyway, the tests pass now, thanks.
