Therefore, the real problem does not appear to be convenience and IMHO neither is functionality the problem. My only point is this. I think Travis and Pearu have been doing a great job! I'd rather see them working on things like Numeric3 and core scipy functionality rather than spend time worrying about packaging, including other new packages and making things more comfortable for the user (especially when these things are already taken care of).
