I have no problem with Python2.4 and gcc version 4.5 on Fedora 14.
Which version of Fedora are you using?
That gcc version 3.4.4 is rather old as in Fedora Core 3 (cf Fedora
15 in alpha release now).
I think that numpy requires at least gcc version 4+ but it actual
version needs to be more specific than that. Hopefully someone with
sufficient gcc knowledge will correct me and the documentation.
