I really don&#39;t see any advantage of matrices over arrays for teaching. I prefer to teach linear algebra with arrays.<div><br></div><div>I would also like matrices to disappear from numpy. But then one would need a new implementation of scipy.sparse, which is (very unfortunately) matrix-based at the moment.</div>
