Correct.

Regarding the config.h, which config.h?  I have a numpyconfig.h.
Which compilation options should I obtain and how?  When I run
setup.py, I see:

C compiler: gcc -pthread -fno-strict-aliasing -DNDEBUG -g -fwrapv -O2
-Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -fPIC

compile options: '-Inumpy/core/include
-Ibuild/src.linux-i686-2.6/numpy/core/include/numpy
-Inumpy/core/src/private -Inumpy/core/src -Inumpy/core
-Inumpy/core/src/npymath -Inumpy/core/src/multiarray
-Inumpy/core/src/umath -Inumpy/core/include -I/usr/include/python2.6
-Ibuild/src.linux-i686-2.6/numpy/core/src/multiarray
-Ibuild/src.linux-i686-2.6/numpy/core/src/umath -c'

Here is my show_config().

I'm running the same distro, but 64 bits instead of 32. Strange, maybe sse2 has something to do with it.
